Well, SHE's not actually coming, but Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is!
This program mails a free, age appropriate book to children age birth to their 5th birthday, and we'll be offering it in the Sambro Ketch Harbour Elementary School catchment area.
Reading to a child right from birth creates a special bond, ignites curiosity, increases vocabulary, improves language skills, and it's a great way to keep them entertained.
SACA is proud to be a part of the rich heritage of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, furnishing the most impressionable and vulnerable members of our society with the foundation of literacy.
We're currently at the fundraising stage, with a goal to raise $5,000, which is a good foundation for supplying an uninterrupted supply of books to our children. 100% of the funds raised go to support children within our community.
Once we raise these funds, we'll open the portal for children's names and addresses to be entered. There is no charge to register a child and the books arrive each month. For FREE. (We know! How amazing is that?!?!)
